Modern Terminals has received two Merit Awards in the categories of “Safety Promotion Award” and “OSH Annual Report Award” of the 17th Hong Kong Occupational Safety & Health Award organized by Occupational Safety & Health Council.

We place enormous emphasis on health and safety for our employees and contractors’ workers. Since traffic safety within container terminals is of great importance as many trucks and mobile equipment are operated concurrently, we rolled out a Safe Driving Campaign in 2017 to raise staff awareness on safe driving practices and to equip drivers with accident prevention techniques.  A series of activities including defensive and safe driving training, traffic incident sharing forum, health and safety briefing sessions and safe driving sticker design competition were conducted. The campaign has successfully resulted in a reduction in the number of traffic accidents and is recognized by the “Safety Promotion Award - Merit Award”.

Besides the Safe Driving Campaign, Modern Terminals has enhanced its health and safety performance with a number of measures and programmes.
