Modern Terminals Limited’s commitment to the environment has continued to grow stronger throughout 2014. The company has recently taken delivery of eight Electric Rubber-Tyred Gantry (E-RTG) Cranes which will enhance operational handling capability at the company’s home port of Kwai Tsing, Hong Kong. These E-RTGs, which are powered by city electricity rather than diesel generators, emit zero carbon dioxide emissions during their operation, while their indirect carbon emissions are 60 percent lower than those of diesel-powered RTG cranes. The use of advanced and environmentally-friendly equipment like this not only helps Modern Terminals cut costs and delivers efficiency; it also proves that the company takes its sustainability obligations and environmental promises seriously.
