Modern Terminals' Eco Tour Increases Green Awareness

19 October 2014

Modern Terminals' staff and their families got a first-hand look at Hong Kong's amazing biodiversity and innovative recycling facilities in the 2014 Eco Tour.

The full-day tour was a journey of discovery for the fifty participants, allowing them to experience the incredible diversity of visiting migratory birds and the other flora and fauna of the world-famous Mai Po Nature Reserve, a wetland of international importance and a Ramsar Site.

After lunch in scenic Lau Fau Shan, the group visited the Hong Kong Organic Waste Recycling Centre in Sheung Shui, a cutting-edge facility which is helping to address the problem of food waste in Hong Kong by gathering and recycling organic waste from schools, housing estates, the catering industry and other sources.

This important tour helped raise awareness about Hong Kong's astonishing biodiversity and numerous environmental challenges, which will lead to greater staff engagement with green issues in future.
