Starting from yesterday (13 July), a new India service calls at DaChan Bay Terminals every Sunday, further enhancing the position of DaChan Bay Terminals as a strategic port in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Jointly operated by ESL and Evergreen Line, the service is named China Subcontinent Express (CSX) and China-India Express Service 8 (CIX8) respectively. 

With the routing of "Colombo → Nhava Sheva → Mundra", the service provides a coverage of key ports as well as connections to other cities in the India Subcontinent, which better serve the needs of exporters in China and importers in the India market. In addition, the new service together with ESL and Evergreen’s existing India service at DaChan Bay Terminals boost the service frequency to meet the rapidly growing market demand, delivering greater flexibility to customers across the regions.

As the key and last port of call in South China of the new service, DaChan Bay Terminals’ position as a critical trade link between China and India has been enhanced, thanks to its high operational efficiency, one-stop customs clearance and proximity to the manufacturing hinterland. DaChan Bay Terminals Managing Director Brian Yeung said: “The new service not only enhances the capacity of DaChan Bay Terminals to serve the markets along the “India trade corridor”, but also provides more competitive logistics solutions for South China’s export companies through express shipping and flexible capacity arrangements.”

A total of six vessels (four from ESL and two from Evergreen Line) each with a capacity of 4,600-6,000 TEUs will be deployed on the service, with a port rotation of Qingdao - Xiamen - Nansha - DaChan Bay - Port Klang - Colombo - Nhava Sheva - Mundra - Port Klang – Qingdao.
