Modern Terminals Limited (MTL) releases its second Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report today with expanded coverage to include all our business units in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Being one of the region’s first container terminal operators to publish a CSR Report, the MTL Group is committed to sharing the achievements and challenges of its CSR journey.

The MTL Group CSR Report was compiled in accordance with the latest Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 sustainability reporting guidelines, covering a period of two years from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2015. The Report presents the Group’s sustainability activities and initiatives in the areas of People, Health and Safety, Community Involvement and Environment. It has been independently verified by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and has received the GRI Materiality Disclosures Service organizational mark.

Mr. Sean A. Kelly, the Chief Executive Officer of MTL Group, said: “We are committed to operating our business sustainably and to contributing to the well-being of the communities in which we live and work. As well as recognizing our achievements, we regard CSR reporting as a valuable self-assessment tool that allows us to review the group’s current sustainability performance and identify areas for future improvement.

“A structured stakeholder engagement exercise has been conducted to determine what material aspects should be included or enhanced in our CSR Report. The process of structured stakeholder engagement will continue over the next few years to cover all the key stakeholders of the MTL Group.” added Mr. Kelly.
