Modern Terminals is honoured to receive the Silver Award in the Transport and Logistics category of 2019 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence, a reputable award programme on environment led by the Environmental Campaign Committee alongside the Environmental Protection Department of HKSAR Government and in conjunction with nine organisations.

We are particularly proud to be among the best in environmental performance in the industry together with some of our business partners.

Our recent key achievements include reaching the ten-year target in 2018 by reducing the emission intensity by 30% to less than 10kg per TEU, conversion of diesel-powered rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to electricity-powered ones, and LED light replacement on quay cranes and RTGs.  We are also proud to have the first pure electric-driven tractor in Hong Kong operating at our facilities and DaChan Bay Terminals becoming the first container terminal in South China with all berths featuring shore power capability.
