In recognition of the growing demand for seamless
transport solutions from manufacturing sites in
the Pearl River Delta (PRD), Modern Terminals
has taken the initiative to establish the Inland
Gate, a unique network of dedicated daily feeder
services. The Inland Gate represents a paradigm
shift in feeder
operation that streamlines the operation
process between Kwai Chung port and
feeder terminals in the Pearl River Delta (PRD)
and other coastal cities of South China by moving
more cargo between them by waterway. The unique
network of dedicated daily feeder services extends
our terminal gates ˇV both figuratively and literally
ˇV to the PRD. It provides a fast, efficient, cost-effective
and reliable way to move import and export containers
between Modern Terminals and major manufacturing
and trading centres in the region. Containers
can be delivered either to their nominated mother
vessels in Hong Kong, or to feeder vessels with
final destinations in the PRD.
By virtually extending our gates to those of the feeder terminals of our partners, Modern Terminals takes full responsibility for ensuring that our shippers' cargoes are loaded onto their mother vessels punctually, by means of a schedule of regular voyages and priority berthing arrangements, and backed by the exchange of real-time information at both ends.
Besides giving our customers (both shipping lines and shippers) peace of mind by enabling them to monitor container movements through an EDI-enabled service on ModernPorts, this integrated feeder and terminal service also encompasses other value-added services, such as door-to-door deliveries and empty container management.
With the support of the shipping
community, the Inland Gate service now spans 12
ports and 23 feeder terminals, and it is powered
by numerous allied feeder operators. What's more,
we are still busy ˇ§knittingˇ¨ and expanding the
network to serve you better.
